Betty Jean Alexander
January 15, 1925 — January 1, 2018
Betty Jean Alexander went home January 1, 2018 at St. Joseph East Hospital. Betty was born in Newton, Iowa on January 15, 1925.
She is survived by her two children Linda Alexander, Lancaster, KY and Jim Alexander of Lexington. She is also survived by Jim’s two children and their spouses: Karey Alexander Nevels and Justin of Columbus, Ohio, and Tyler and Sarah Alexander of Lexington.
During her life she excelled at making everyone around her feel loved and appreciated. She never met a stranger and leaves behind great friends everywhere she lived, but most recently at Churchill Crossings in Nicholasville, and at Hartland Hills in Lexington. During her life taught numerous Sunday School classes, sang in many church choirs and choruses, lead several Girl Scout troops, enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, sewing, knitting and recently became an avid reader. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nicholasville, KY, and enjoyed knitting with Warm Up America. To everyone who knew her, she leaves a legacy of faith, love and hope. Throughout her life, right up to her journey home, she was a positive, loving Mother, Grandmother and friend.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held 5-7 pm, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nicholasville United Methodist Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
