Betty Tilghman Biggerstaff, 84, wife of John Whitney Biggerstaff, passed away Sunday July 28, 2019 after a long illness. She was born December 28, 1934 to the late Herbert and Mary Duvall Tilghman in Versailles, KY. Betty was a nurse for the medical practice of Dr. Ben Roach and Dr. Jack Fisher in Midway for 35 years until she retired in 2004. Faith, family and friends were Betty’s life-long passions. She was an active member of Pinckard Baptist Church and a former member of Versailles Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of 39 years, she will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Cathy Hanley, Union, KY and Tamara (Robert) Shumate, Versailles, KY; grandchildren, Christy (Aaron) Shirliff and Wayne (Heather) Hanley. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Wehrle, and a granddaughter, Heather Hanley.
A visitation will take place 4:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. A private graveside service for family will take place at Midway Cemetery.
The family asks that donations in Betty’s memory be made to Pinckard Baptist Church, Hospice of the Bluegrass in Frankfort, or a charitable organization of choice.
