Billy Joe Godby

Midway, Ky. Billy Joe Godby, 66, died Friday, January 1, 2016, at home surrounded by his family and friends after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1949 to Joseph Arnold and Bonnie Godby. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlyn (Lewis) Godby, two sons, Rodney and Bobby Joe (Jennifer) Godby, three grandchildren, Samantha, Jamee and Phillip, and two great-grandchildren, Addilyn and Owen. Also surviving are two brothers, Don (Helen) of Eaton, CO and Ed (Peggy) Godby of Owenton. He was an active member of the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church for 42 years and was very instrumental in the construction of the new church building and Cross Center. Bill was retired from Kuhlman Electric Corp., Versailles and enjoyed driving and showing his classic 1967 Chevelle. Funeral Information A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, 495 Duckers Road, Midway, KY. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4 pm until 8 pm on Monday, January 4th.
