Brandon Michael Cooke

May 31, 1997 — December 13, 2025

Brandon Michael Cooke, 28, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on December 13, 2025. Born on May 31, 1997, Brandon lived a life marked by gentleness, kindness, and a quiet strength that uplifted everyone around him.  Brandon was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, teacher, and friend. His family was at the heart of everything he did, especially treasured time spent with his brothers and cousins, whether gathered for games, sharing music, cooking together, or enjoying the outdoors. He loved hiking, baking, thoughtful conversation, and the simple joy of being with the people he cared about. His interests reflected who he was at his core: curious, warm, patient, and deeply connected to those around him.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Brandon earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees before beginning a career in education. He taught chemistry at Clark County and Woodford County Schools, where he was admired for his calm presence, dedication to his students, and genuine belief in their potential. Teaching was more than a profession for him—it was a calling; one he embraced with care and sincerity.

Brandon also served a two-year mission in Southern California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, following in the footsteps of his grandfather more than half a century later. His sense of duty, compassion, and willingness to serve shaped every chapter of his life.

Brandon is preceded in death by his parents, Tonya Cooke and Michael Cooke. He is survived by his loving grandparents Donna Cooke, David Cooke, and Janice Purdy; his brothers Alex and Austin; and his half siblings Cameron Storms and Amber Storms. He is also survived by his aunts Lisa Conway, Traci Cooke, Amy Hanshaw, Carrie Walters, and his uncle’s Kevin D. Cooke and Jason Purdy. Brandon will be remembered with love by many cousins, extended family members, colleagues, students, and friends whose lives were brightened by his presence.

Those who knew Brandon will forever carry with them his kindness, his gentle heart, and his uplifting spirit. Even in times of difficulty, he remained compassionate, steady, and hopeful, qualities that left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Brandon was the kind of person who made others feel seen, valued, and supported. His legacy is one of love, quiet courage, and the enduring strength of a good heart.

Burial arrangements will be shared with family and friends privately.
