Carl Henry Westerfield

Dec 17, 1951 — Jun 26, 2026

Carl Henry Westerfield, born December 17, 1951, in Danville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on June 26,2026

He was the son of the late Everett and Marjorie Westerfield. A proud graduate of Danville High School, Carl went on to serve his country with dedication in the Kentucky National Guard for 34 years, retiring in January 2004.

Carl later made his home in Lexington to be close to his daughter, Stacy. There, he built a vibrant life surrounded by a close knit circle of friends. He was known for making friends wherever he went, a testament to his warm and outgoing personality. Among his favorite daily routines were trips with his beloved dog, Cody, to the Kenwick Table coffee shop and visits to local wineries. Carl's "fur babies"—especially Cody, Cocoa, and Chloe—were the center of his life, providing him with endless companionship and comfort.

Even during his sickness, Carl’s resilient spirit shone through. He never complained, and he would always tell those around him, "I feel great, just like a 20-year-old." His strength and positivity will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Carl is survived by his daughters, Stacy Stacy (Matt) of Lexington, and Robin Morey (James) of Indianapolis, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kayleigh and Carson Stacy, and Zaac, Skylar,Luke, Jakob and Morgan Morey. He is also survived by his sister, Carole Meredith of Danville, and his brother, Gary Westerfield (Carol) of Richmond.
