Cathy Joanne Cranor

Jul 31, 1956 — Jan 25, 2026

Cathy Joanne Cranor, 69, of Lexington, and loving wife of Keith Charles Killary passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 while under hospice care at UK’s Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born to the late Henry K. Morrison and Betty J. Shepherd Morrison on July 31, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cathy was a member of the Christian faith.

Cathy grew up in Portsmouth, Ohio during her earliest years and through middle school. She was an accomplished flutist in her middle school in Portsmouth. She and her family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida when she was a teenager, and she graduated from high school there. She went on to have a successful career as a salesperson for a plumbing supply business in Jupiter, Florida. Cathy’s employer recognized her potential by sending her to advanced training at the Kohler Company’s Kohler College in Wisconsin. She was very skilled at assisting contractors with their projects. Cathy and Keith moved to Lexington in July of 2023.

Cathy was very gifted at crafting, especially crocheting, beading, and stenciling. Many will remember the beautiful Christmas ornaments she made. She also made baby blankets for each baby born into the family. More recently, she was teaching herself watercolor painting, within which she displayed great skill.

In addition to her great companion of twenty years, Keith, Cathy is survived her daughter, Staci Crawford and her five siblings, Vicki (Terry) Wolde of Alabama, Marty June Peters of North Carolina, Ric (Deanna) Morrison of North Carolina, Jodee L. (Eddie) Day, Janel Coulter, Melissa Miller, and Maryjo Morrison; five grandchildren, Erik, Riley, Rowan, Jack, and Molly; and one great granddaughter, Elena. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her daughter Stephi Crawford, and her son, Scott Crawford.

Cathy’s wish was to be cremated. Her family will hold a private memorial service in the near future.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida (https://marinelife.org/give/).

Christmas 2007

Dear Cathlene,

The sky was dark and silvery,

the sand was still warm from the afternoon sun....

As we walked, hand in hand, the waves gently tickled the shore

and the moon slowly slipped up into the Eastern sky....

We slowed to a stop and watched as the moon’s

luminance bridged the ocean and softly lit our faces...

From a distance, our bodies appeared as one,

silhouetted against the rising moon....

Our heartbeats mingled as we held each other close, our eyes

saw our heart’s desire, our lips parted and gently touched.....

Our bodies swayed in the tropical breeze by the light of this magical moon...

Our first kiss as our bodies swayed in the tropical

breeze by the light of this magical moon.

Let this be the first of many “magical moons.”

I love you with all my heart.  -Keith
