Obituary Clifford Long, 85, husband of Virginia Ann Bartlett Long, died on April 18, 2009. Born April 14, 1924 to Arthur and Lindy Collins Long in Madison Co. KY. He was a Veteran of WWII Navy Ship, USS Pamina, South Pacific. Served as a Police officer at the University of Kentucky for 30 years retiring with rank of Captain. He was a KY Colonel. He was a long time member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church serving as deacon and elder. He was a member of Crestwood Christian Chruch. Besides his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his 6 daughters, Judy Karen Wymer, Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer (David) Satterly, Louisville, KY, Pamela (Bill) Gardner, Lexington, KY, Sharyn (Clarence) Meade, Atlanta GA, Anita (Doug) Hammack, Maple Valley, WA, and Lindi (Rick) Campbell, Lexington, KY, 12 Grandchildren, Mark and Mathew Coffey, Michael and Cole Wade, Erica, Philip and Nathan Meade, Jennifer and Heather Masse, Allie and Cassie Campbell, and Ben Hammack, 4 Great grandchildren, T.J. and Linda Coffey, Makayla and Carley Wade, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 25, 10:30 am, at Crestwood Christian Church with a reception immediately following. Rev. Colette Hensley and Rev. Robert Mallory officiating. Visitation, 9:30 am, until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Crestwood Christian Church or Providence Christian Church. Funeral Information Visitation, 9:30 am, April 25, 2009, until time of service. Funeral service, Saturday, April 25, 2009, 10:30 am, at Crestwood Christian Church. Reception immediately following.
