Obituary
Clovis Fields Whitaker, 83, of Versailles, Kentucky, wife of 62 years to the late Harlin Whitaker, died at her home in Millville on Thursday, February 14, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Letcher County to the late Wm. Beckham and Arlie Back Fields on November 1, 1929. She was a Retired Teacher for the Woodford County School Systems.
Clovis is survived by her three children, Anita (Gary) Jones, Janalee Whitaker, and Keith (Tammy) Whitaker. She doted on her three grandchildren, Christopher (Kim) Jones, Taylor (Matt Drake) Whitaker and Matthew Whitaker and her great-grandson, Donovan Jones. She also leaves behind sisters, brothers, nephews, and nieces that will miss her.
Clovis enjoyed her students and made a difference in their lives. She became a Mary Kay consultant and director. She loved to work in her flower beds, delighting in the blooms. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, creating memories with the children.
In her illness, she was lovingly attended to by Hospice of the Bluegrass to whom the family wants to express their utmost gratitude.
Funeral Information
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, at Clark Legacy Center with Bro. John Thomas and Greg Whitaker officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Casketbearers will be Christopher Jones, Matthew Whitaker, Matthew Drake, Taylor Whitaker, Donovan Jones and Jamie Moore. Honorary Casketbearers will be Keith Whitaker and Gary Jones.
