Colistia Irene Gabhart

Colistia Irene Gabhart, 100, widow of the late Roy Dell Gabhart, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on March 10, 1926 to the late Lucy Helton and Lewis Delaney. Mrs. Gabhart worked at Baptist Health (formally Central Baptist) for many years and attended Boones Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gabhart enjoyed fishing and playing the slots. She also enjoyed yardwork and scooting around in her power wheelchair outdoors.

Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Carolyn Gabhart, Phyllis Hershey, Edna Pearl Gabhart; sons, Austin Lewis (Mary) Gabhart, James Gabhart; sisters, Shirley (Jim) Gilchrist, Mary Jelf; grandchildren, Bobby (Mabel) Vance, Mark (Missy) Hershey, Shane Vance, Trina Vance Gipson, Erin (Rob) Hershey Serrate, Jessica Gabhart; 15 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren; and, her good friends the Adairs, Sara, Mike and children, Sophia, Clara and Micah.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters, Judy Gabhart O'Donnell, Lois Coffman; sister, Stella Wilds; brothers, Verlin Delaney, James Delaney, and Edward Delaney.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:30am at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, officiated by Tim Wade, with visitation starting at 9am until the time of the service. A graveside will follow at 1pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Lexington, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers, Rob Serrate, Mark Hershey, Marc Hershey, Landry Serrate, Joey Hensley, and honorary pallbearers, Hays and Walker Serrate.
