Obituary
David Lee McFarland, 61, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in his Frankfort home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. David was born on October 17, 1951 in Scott County, KY to the late Elijah McFarland and Stella Brooks. He graduated from Shelby County High School in 1970 and from Eastern Kentucky University with a teaching degree in special education in 1975. An entrepreneur and successful businessman, he started McFarland Realtors and was the former owner of Home Decorating/Porter Paint in Frankfort. He enjoyed collecting antiques, exploring new places, spending time with family, and being at his vacation home at Lake Cumberland. David is best described as a teacher, a friend, and an encourager. Many will remember David for his faith, tenacity, sense of humor, sincere love for all people, and his goal to make something or someone better each day. He will be missed, but his contributions in people's lives will continue.
