Donald Philip Highbarger

LEXINGTON- Donald “Don” Philip Highbarger, 82, husband of Ruth Ann Chowning Highbarger, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019. A native of Lexington, Kentucky he was born on January 21, 1937 to the late Emmett and Dewey Martin Highbarger. Mr. Highbarger was the owner and operator of Donco Inc. since 1984, a former University of Kentucky Police Officer and a Deputy Jailer. He was the founder of Perfect Peace Ministry and manager of Highbarger Ministry. He also supported other ministries, groups, and charities. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his daughters, Donna (Chip) Highbarger Walker, Lexington and Wendy Ann Highbarger, Richmond; grandchildren, Kelly Layne Miller, Lexington, Stephanie Walker, FL and Peri (Drew) Walker Cowan, Lexington; and his great grandchildren, Alayna Miller, Christian Miller, Kobe Miller, Elijah Miller and Jaxon Burns. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Highbarger. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Savior on May 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Galilean Home Ministries www.galileanhome.org.
