Donnie Ross Wilson, 72, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, in Lexington, KY. He was born in Hopkinsville, KY on September 15, 1953, to the late Rev. Elton and Rachel Dean Courtney Wilson. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Leon (Bettye) and Galen (Lois) Wilson and a great niece, Nicky.
Donnie was a 1971 graduate of Clarksville High School. In his younger years, he worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Plant as a delivery driver in Clarksville, TN. Donnie then became the proud owner of DRoss & Company and did HVAC in Lexington for many years. He continued HVAC at Bryers and Harvey in Clarksville, TN until he retired and moved to Ocala, FL.
Donnie was a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN, where his father pastored for many years. He was also a member of Ashland Ave and Heritage Baptist Church of Lexington, KY. Donnie loved to sing in the men's quartet at Bible Baptist Church. He loved gospel hymns, spending time with his family and loved a good game of Farkle. Donnie never met a stranger; he was always the life of the party.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters; Meagan (Danny) Juse, Courtney (Cory) French, both of FL, and a step-daughter, Gina (Joe) Winer of KY; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nephews; Mike (Jackie) and Keith (late wife Elysia) Wilson, TN.; a niece Missy (Mike) Moore of KY, several great nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends. Donnie had a special sister-in-law, Lois Wilson, that he loved dearly.
A celebration of life for Donnie will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bible Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
