He was born in Hammondsport, New York, son of the late Edward Schultz and Marjorie Horton Nissen. He graduated from Syracuse University with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and he was a retired Vice-President for ADM {Archer-Daniel-Midland}. He had served with the US Air Force. He is survived by his son, Timothy Edward Tim {Diana} Nissen, Cotacachi, Ecuador; sister, Elaine Nissen Smith, Hilliard, Ohio, four grandchildren, April Moore, Crystal, Davis and Keith Harstad, and eight great grandchildren.
