George F. Boisvert

Nov 29, 1932 — Dec 17, 2015

Frankfort, KY Boisvert, George Francis, 83, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015, after a 14-year battle with cancer. A native of Waterbury, CT, and long-time resident of Carol Stream, IL, he was the son of the late Reginald and Mary Andarowski Boisvert. A military veteran, George was retired from ATT and enjoyed collecting and restoring vintage clocks in his spare time. After high school, George enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he trained in electronics and served on two aircraft carriers, the USS Cabot (CVL-28) and USS Lake Champlain (CV-39). After serving his country, and having married Jeanette, the pretty coat check girl he met at a USO Club, the young couple bought a small home near Chicago in the newly established suburb of Carol Stream. There George served as a volunteer fireman, found work installing and repairing telephones for Illinois Bell (eventually part of ATT) and helped raise four children. He retired after 36 years with the phone company and enjoyed many years of indulging in his hobbies, travel and visiting with his friends, children and grandchildren. In 2007, George and Jeanette moved to Frankfort, KY to enjoy the warmer climate and be near their young grandchild. George soon became a popular person in his adopted new hometown, as he frequented the local diners and stores where he liked to engage friends and strangers alike in conversation. It was soon impossible for his family to go anywhere in Frankfort without someone asking about "George" and saying how much they enjoyed him. In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Humbert Boisvert, he is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Leo) Cira, Buffalo Grove, IL and Laurie (David) Eschenbrenner, Cedar Park, TX; sons, Paul (Kathy) Boisvert, Frankfort, KY and Dave (Cheryl) Boisvert, Dallas, TX; five of eight siblings and nine grandchildren. Funeral Information Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life planned for Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, in Frankfort.
