Gerald L. Dunaway

Gerald L. Dunaway, 87, died Monday, March 19, 2018. He is survived by his wife Imogene (Jones) Dunaway; daughter Charlotte (Danny Murphy) Dunaway; sons Gerald (Jennifer Bramel) Dunaway, Jr. and Timothy Shawn (Pam) Dunaway; sister Luann Parsons; grandchildren Caleb Dunaway, Jillian Dunaway, Nicholas “Nick” Dunaway and April Dunaway and great grandchild Sawyer Reams. He is preceded in death by his parents Price and Leone (House) Dunaway and brother Keith Dunaway. In his youth, Gerald loved to hunt and fish. Later in life, he enjoyed tending his vegetable garden and cooking for Imogene, when she returned from her work. After retirement, he became an avid reader and student, earning his Associates Degree in Engineering, his Bachelors in Anthropology and English Literature and his Masters in Library Science. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in his name to The American Red Cross at www.redcross.org/ Private family services will be held at a later date.
