Gerald L. Edwards, 62, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. Loving husband of 37 years to Connie Knox Edwards, he was born October 28, 1954 to James Edwards and Mary Katherine Rhodus Renfro. The late Leon Renfro had the honor of being his step-father, helping Mary to raise Gerald from the age of 2. Everyone loved Gerald. He was truly a man who never met a stranger, always making everyone in the room laugh. In addition to his family and friends, Gerald had a love for animals, particularly cats. His gentle nature and fondness for life captured the hearts of people and animals alike. He will be missed.
In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by his son, Gerald (Gina) Edwards, II, Lexington; mother, Mary Katherine Rhodus Renfro; sister, Mary (Bill) Carr, Lexington; step-brothers, Glenn Renfro, Georgetown and Lynn Renfro, Georgetown; uncle, Don (Cathy) Rhodus; and grandchildren Kelsey and Hendrix Edwards.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held 7:00p, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing with Pastor David Allen officiating. Dennis Bailey, Steve Burdet, Tommy Isaacs, James Carpenter, James Wright, Kevin Stinnett, Paul Short, and Jesse Smith will act as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00p prior to the funeral service.
