Helen M. Sparks

Obituary Helen M. Sparks, 97, of Lexington, widow of David Malcolm Sparks, died March 31, 2010. She was born January 14, 1913 in Morganfield, Kentucky, to the late John and Kate Mason. Helen graduated from Morganfield High School and attended Georgetown College and Bowling Green Business University. She was employed by the Fayette County Board of Education and the UK College of Nursing. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Bethany Bible Class. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Dr. Michael) Gentry, Versailles; two grandchildren, Kathryn Curnutte, Lexington; Mike (Allison) Gentry, Jr., Versailles; and four great grandchildren, Cy and Rachael Curnutte, Trey and Grady Gentry. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Many thanks to the individuals at Lexington Country Place who lovingly cared for our mother and grandmother. Funeral Information Visitation will be 1:30 pm, Monday, April 5, 2010 at Clark Legacy Center; followed by a service at 2:30 pm, officiated by Rev. William K. Simmons.
