Herbert Barnett Lancaster

Herbert Barnett Lancaster, 87, passed away on December 16, 2018. He was born June 29, 1931 in Versailles, KY to the late Roy and Rose Hardesty Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his first wife and children’s mother, Shirley Adcock Lancaster. Survivors include his second wife of 24 years, Carolyn Jean Lancaster; one son, Roy (Amanda) Lancaster; three daughters, Nancy Fitch, Jennifer Wyatt and Amy (Mark) Cress; three grandchildren, Hyter (Jessica) Lancaster, Katie Rose (Jacob) Flora and Rachel (Justin) Cress; three great-grandchildren, Boone Barnett Lancaster, Myla Leeann Brown and Winnifred Rose Flora; one brother, Jerry Lancaster; and two sisters, Doris (Edward) McManaway and Ann Routt. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steve Wyatt. Herbert proudly served his country in the US Air Force having been stationed in San Antonio, TX. He worked at IBM for 30+ years and was a cattle and tobacco farmer. He was also a licensed auctioneer, having started Lancaster Auction in the mid-1970s. Herbert, a life-long member of the Baptist faith, is remembered for his kindness, infectious smile and his adventurous spirit. He will be missed by many. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday December 20, 2018, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles; burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Memorial donations are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project. ClarkLegacyCenter.com
