Jack D. Crawford
Dec 9, 1934 — Mar 21, 2018
Jack D. Crawford, 83, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Winkler) Crawford; sons Glenn (Terrie Lynn Trotter) Herald and David (Jennifer Lynn) Herald; grandchildren Joshua Herald, Hannah Harshman, Mattie Turner Herald, Cody Herald, Amanda Webb, Drew Herald, Grant Herald and Trevor Ballard; great-grandchildren Sawyer Harshman, Shephard Harshman and Magnolia Harshman; caregiver Jody Emmitt and special grandson Alex Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert Crawford and Mae (Lucker) Gabbard and brother William Paul Herald.
In Jack’s younger years, he was an insurance agent, but later served Fayette County as a Deputy Sheriff until his retirement. He also enjoyed the horse industry as an owner and as a fan. All of his adult life, he was involved with the Democratic Party on either the local and/or state level. For fun, he enjoyed going to the horse tracks, and visiting some of the local garage sales.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jack’s name to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
There will be a Gathering from 1-3PM, Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing.
