James "Jamie" William Kyle
Jul 3, 1977 — Aug 11, 2026
James “Jamie” William Kyle, Jr., 49, of Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1977, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Phyllis Courtney Kyle and James Kyle, Sr.
Jamie dedicated more than 20 years of his life to Woodall Construction, where he worked as a heavy-duty mechanic and machine operator before taking an early retirement. He was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did and in providing for the people he loved.
Above all else, Jamie cherished his family. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of his life. He loved his children deeply and took great pride in watching them grow, sharing in their accomplishments, making memories together, and simply enjoying their time side by side. His love for his children was unwavering and will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.
Jamie was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He loved joking, picking and pestering those he cared about, and bringing a smile to the faces of the people around him. His laughter, personality, and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, especially hunting. Some of his fondest memories were made in the woods and outdoors with family and friends. For Jamie, hunting was about much more than the hunt itself—it was about the quiet moments, the stories, the laughter, and the memories made along the way.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Jamie’s memory include his beloved daughter, Shelby Kyle-Jenkins (Elijah Jenkins); sons, John Kyle and Jaxton Kyle; grandson, Bryer Jenkins; sisters, Brandi Kyle and Joyce Kyle; brothers, David Kyle, Timmy Kyle, Pete Kyle, and Mike Kyle; and his special nephew, Aiden Kyle. He also leaves behind countless family members and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.
Jamie was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Kyle.
Jamie’s life will be remembered not only for the years he was given, but for the love, laughter, memories, and lasting impact he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through his children, grandson, family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
To honor Jamie’s life, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
