Online Obituaries for Frankfort KY James Lee Jimmy McGaughey, 72, passed away on June 12, 2017, at his home. Jimmy was born in Lawrenceburg, KY on February 6, 1945, to the late Chester and Pauline Gay McGaughey. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia, his daughter, Becky McGaughey (Joe) Waters of Versailles, and his son, Shannon (Gwen) McGaughey, Frankfort. He is also survived by his sister, Gayla (Kenneth) Powell of Lawrenceburg, and grandchildren Craig (Teri) Copas, Ashley (Marc Tater) Wilson, and Grace McGaughey, all of Frankfort. Jimmy was very active in the Deaf Community and was an alumni of The Kentucky School for the Deaf. He was also very active in his church, filling in sometimes in the pulpit. He was a wonderful craftsman in woodworking and loved his boat and fishing. Jimmy retired from the Kentucky Transportation Department in 2001. Jimmy never met a stranger and was loved by so many. He will be missed greatly. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Shannon McGaughey, Craig Copas, Joe Waters, John Bradley, Billy Cannon, and Kenneth Powell. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Ashley Wilson, Grace McGaughey, and Teri Copas. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
