John Wesley "Jack" Badgett, 73, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, September 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born in Louisville, KY on May 26, 1940, the only child of the late William Wesley Badgett and Elizabeth Mitchell Badgett. He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School. He was a Corporal in the US Army, stationed in Germany. Mr. Badgett was a retired IBM and state government employee. He served on the Franklin County School Board and was a member of the The Elks Club, Jaycees, The Masons, Hiram Lodge #4, and The Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. He was a founding member of The Kentucky River Mudcats and held a special place in his heart for all his friends at KRC. He loved fishing, camping, playing cards and following the UK Wildcats. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends in The Breakfast Club.
Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat Badgett; two sons, Kenny Badgett of Frankfort and Tommy Badgett of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Jackie (Keith) Tamminga of Nicholasville; five granddaughters, Amber Badgett, Jacquelynne Harper, Ellissa Badgett, Brooke Badgett, Brynne Badgett; three grandsons, John Wesley "Trey" Badgett III, Blake Badgett and Jordon Tamminga; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, John "Wesley" Badgett II.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00PM on Thursday at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, Midway, KY followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends from 6:00-9:00PM at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road.
