John H. Dinsmore, 76, died Thur., Dec. 31, 2015 in the Mountain View Nursing Home, a caring and loving community at Elkhorn City, Kentucky. He was born to John C. and Borghild Dinsmore in Owatonna, Minnesota, where he was active in the Boy Scouts as a young man, ultimately achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. John earned a B. A. degree from the University of Minnesota; where he was a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity, and went on to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. John was a modern Renaissance man, with a keen interest in architecture and design, literature, music, the arts, and the French language and cuisine. These interests were reflected in his diverse career, which ranged from teaching French, to consulting for the computer industry. John's many friends remember him fondly as someone who never knew a stranger and was always welcoming and ready for a lively conversation.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Carol Hallwachs Dinsmore, originally of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind a brother James (Pat) Dinsmore, of The Villages, Fl.; sister Mary (Dan) Hymans of Loveland, Co.; two nephews, three nieces and long-time good friends, Saundra and Julian Campbell of Lexington. www.clarklegacycenter.com
