John W. Stratton, 74, husband of Mollie Spurlock Stratton, passed away Thursday July 11, 2019. John was born September 3, 1944 to the late Marion and Mary Soard Stratton in Versailles. He served in the US Army and was an electrician for General Cable. He is preceded in death by a son Ricky Pitts and a grandson Cody Owen.
John is survived by daughters, Sherry Stratton (Darel) Poe, Lawrenceburg and Crystal Pitts Kinder, Versailles; a son John Wiley Pitts, Lawrenceburg; sisters, Laura Carpenter, Versailles, Mary Jane Bain, Versailles, Shelby Jean Tipton, Versailles, Beverly (Bobby) Hughes, Versailles, Debbie Stratton (Stanley) Brumback, Versailles; brothers, Marion Lewis (Angina) Stratton, Philippines, Charles (Gayle) Stratton, Versailles; grandchildren, Danielle Kinder, Walter Kinder and Landon Poe; and great-grandchildren, Kyra Stephens, Kaiden Stephens and Peyton Stephens.
Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, with Reverend Frank Layne officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Landon Poe, Walter Kinder, Charles Stratton, Marion Stratton, Jeremy Stephens and John Wiley Pitts. Robbie Hughes, Chris Carpenter, Kaiden Stephens and Darel Poe are serving as Honorary Casketbearers. Visitation will be 5:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Church of God, Versailles.
