Joyce M. Johnson

Obituary Joyce M. Johnson, 98, of Frankort, Kentucky and widow of the late Jake Johnson, began her new life in heaven on January 31, 2013. Joyce was a Franklin County native, born December 3, 1914 to the late Arthur and Flora Miller. She began attending the First Baptist Church on St. Clair Street in 1928 and remained a faithful member there until her passing. In 1945 she began working in the church mission outreach, teaching Sunday school and Training Union, and became President of the J.O.Y. class. Joyce started her career as a beautician in 1950. She owned and operated Joyce's Beauty Salon in Frankfort for 50 years. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Anita Johnson (Ward) Wells of Louisville, Kentucky; son, Stephen M. (Carla) Johnson of Frankfort, Kentucky; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Information Gathering of Family and Friends will be at 1:30 pm, Monday, February 4 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 pm.
