Juliette Mahan, 71, of Lexington, died Saturday following a battle with PSP. She leaves behind her husband, Carle Mahan; four children: Gladys Griggs (Eldon), Tony Torbey (Mindy), Ramzi Torbey (Michelle) and Mike Torbey (Katrina). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Sadie, Sophia and Eldon Griggs, Hailey Hill, Ramzi, Devin, Jack, Eli, Caroline and Julien Torbey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramez Torbey.
Born January 19, 1945 in Amioun, Lebanon to Albert and Fay Fayad, she was one of six children. She moved her family to the United States in 1977. She spent her career as a seamstress at Jockey in Carlisle, Kentucky. She was a member of Saint Andrews Orthodox Church, Lexington, KY. Known to be the life of the party, she lived for the winter months in Florida with Carle. She was known as a dominant shuffleboard player, and part-time shark hunter. But what she loved most was being a proud grandmother.
Funeral Information
Visitation services are scheduled for Tuesday from 4-7PM at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday at Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church.
