Kathy Anna Schroeder

Kathy Anna Schroeder, 69, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, loving wife of David Nelson Schroeder, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born on October 5, 1956, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late James Bart Davis and Sally Ann (Edberg) Davis. Kathy was a faithful Christian and a devoted member of Wellington Church in Nicholasville.  

A proud graduate of Clinton Senior High School, Class of 1974, Kathy went on to attend Lincoln Memorial University, where she and David first met. She was a devoted homemaker who also shared her compassion and dedication as a Title IX special education teacher at Nicholasville Elementary School.  

Kathy found great joy in traveling and gardening, passions she shared with her husband, David. Together, they enjoyed many memorable adventures both across the United States and abroad. Growing up on a farm in Clinton, Tennessee, nurtured her lifelong love of the outdoors and her gift for gardening.  

In addition to her beloved husband of 48 years, Kathy is survived by their children, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Schroeder and Alicia Lauer; grandchildren Lily Katherine, Howie James, Franklyn Eugene, and Otto Grim; siblings Micheal “Bud” Davis of Kingston, TN, Randy “Peanut” (Linda) Davis of Crossville, TN, and Shannon Star Davis (Timothy) Morgan of Kingston, TN; sister-in-law Sandy Davis of Caryville, TN; as well as many nieces, nephews, and her cherished pet parrot of 40 years, Chiquita. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Bland Davis of Caryville, TN and James Jr. Davis of Clinton, TN.  

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Wayne Holcomb. A reception with food and refreshments will immediately follow, graciously hosted by The Encouragers, Kathy’s Sunday School class from Wellington Church.
