Kenneth Franklin Clevidence

Ken Clevidence, born May 21, 1938 passed away on August 12, 2018. Ken attended Meter Dei High School, Indiana University and the University of Kentucky. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UK. Ken served as administrative assistant in the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission working for the late Director, Victor Hellard, Jr., and the late Speaker of the House, William G. Kenton. In 1984 Ken joined the staff of the University of Kentucky as Coordinator of Physical Facilities for the Central Administration. He served in a number of different administrative capacities before he retired in July 2007, as Associate Vice President for Campus Services which included UK Police Department, Environmental Health and Safety, Parking and Transportation, Emergency Management and Real Property. Ken Co-Chaired the Town and Gown Commission for three years until his retirement. Ken was the son of Laura and Lloyd Clevidence. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Ruth “Jeri” Smith and brother’s Richard and Thomas Clevidence. Ken is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. His is also survived by his beloved partner and spouse of fifty-seven years, Charlie Milward. During those years Ken and Charlie enjoyed traveling including many trips to Europe, Canada, Hawaii and sailing in the Caribbean and on Cave Run Lake as well as spending many winter weeks in their favorite US destination, Marco Island, Florida.
