Lester H. Parish

Lester “Bud” Parish Jr., 59, died February 4, 2018. He is survived by his wife Stephanie (Owens) Parish; sons Christopher Parish and Owen Parish; sisters Susan (Mike) McNulty, Leslie (Jason) Calhoun and Traci Swaw; brothers Randy Parish and Jack Parish and mother Jackie (Crahen) Parish. He is preceded in death by his father Lester Parish. Bud was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and lived around the world as the son of a G.I. In his youth, he loved competing in dirt bike races. Motorcycles and NASCAR, especially when Dale Earnhardt raced, were a love of his throughout his life. Bud was a jack-of-all –trades kind of guy, who could fix most anything. Throughout his life, he was a hard working person, who was well respected by his co-workers. He was a true sports fan, especially when it came to UK Basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. Of all of his loves, his wife and sons were #1. Whether he was looking after Stephanie, helping Owen in Scouts or just hanging out, his greatest joy was his family. There will be a Mass at St. Paul’s on Short Street in Lexington, KY at 10AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2018, followed by his burial at Calvary Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A reception will follow at Masterson Station Club House on Masterson Station Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bud’s name to the American Cancer Society.
