Lillian "Zoe" Shimer

Lillian "Zoe" Shimer, age 79, passed away on July 12, 2019 in Frankfort, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Carl Shimer; her daughter, Lisa Kay Shimer; and her great grandson, Keyan Rafael Wickers. She was born and raised in Iowa and moved to Illinois in 1963, where she lived most of her adult life. She moved to Frankfort, Kentucky in 2015, where she enjoyed fishing at the game farm, playing games with her great-grandchildren, spending time with new friends and taking trips to visit with family and friends (always trying to get to the beach!) She is survived by her daughter, Lavon "Rachelle" Chattin (Lawerence), six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three sisters, multiple nieces and nephews and several life-long friends. There will be no service, as Zoe requested that everyone gather where they lived (from Iowa to Virginia and many states in-between) and share time together. In lieu of gifts, Zoe requested donations to St. Jude Hospital.
