Marcellyn (Marcy) Chandler Dietz

Marcellyn (Marcy) Chandler Dietz, age 90, born in Louisville, February 29, 1936, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, surrounded by family.

Marcy lived her life with a huge heart, a generous spirit, and a deep love for her family, which always came first. She was known for her kindness, caring nature, strong faith, and willingness to help others.

Marcy had a lifelong love of dancing, becoming a student instructor at Barbara Ann's School of Dance. She was a Kentucky Cheerleader, Miss Lexington, and later owned several dance studios, sharing her joy and enthusiasm with others.

She shared many wonderful years with her husband, Sergeant Joseph Arthur Dietz, a decorated U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, until his passing 20 years ago.

Marcy is survived by her daughter, Lorea Ware, son-in-law Donald; grandsons, Trey Ware, wife Lauren, and Chandler Ware, wife Darby; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Henry, and Olivia.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Clark Legacy Center at 601 E Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, with the funeral service immediately following.

Marcy will be laid to rest beside Joe at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
