Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY Mark L. Turner, 81, preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Anna Francis Turner, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was born on September 8, 1935 to the late Ruby Hendricks Turner and Henry Pap Turner. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Marion Turner, Sidney Sid Turner, Ross Turner, Donnie Turner, William Trick Turner, Herbert Bus Turner, Russell Bear Turner, Margie Frog Meriwether, Maxine Traugott, and Henrietta Plug Logan. He is survived by one brother, Risque Mutt Turner and wife Brenda; a son, Larry Turner and wife Deborah; daughter Dianne Mefford and husband Bobby; daughter Stephanie Turner; three grandkids, Josh Turner, Jacob Turner, and wife Nabeth, and Laura Rogers; as well as one step-grandson Josh Mefford; seven great grandkids; 4 step-grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was a dedicated public servant serving Franklin County District 4 as Constable, for 34+ years. He was the longest elected official in the county. Marks philosophy was always to help others and take care of people. This duty of Constable gave him joy in knowing he was able to help those of his district. Mark was also a retired worker for Khulman Electric and State Government. Mark was an avid lover of antique cars, traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains, and playing the harmonica, piano, or organ. Many Sundays he would play church hymns over the phone for those who were not able to attend church, to help lift their spirits. Most of all, Mark cared about family, family was number one to him and strongly believed it should be to everyone. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1:00pm with Rev. Tom Denny and Rev. Sherman Warfield officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Pall bearers will be Josh Turner, Jacob Turner, Laura Rogers, Gary Logan, David Turner, Bobby Mefford, Larry Perkins, and Judge Thomas Wingate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Sowash, Billy Mills, Tom Robinson, and all the Franklin County Court House Employees who wish to attend.
