Marvin C. Bugs Slaughter, 68, of Lexington, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Lexington Veterans Hospital. Born in Lexington, Kentucky he was the son of the late Viola Alberta Wess and Harold C. Slaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Dondre Slaughter, grandson Kaisaun Demarco Fogle and brother Anthony Hughes. He served in the US Army and as a Vietnam War veteran. He worked and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after 27 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Ruth Ann Slaughter, he is survived by his sons, Marvin Davis, Derrick (Akesha) Slaughter, daughters, Terea (Donte) Johnson, Shaneka (Roderick) Boone, Marla Denise Edwards; grandchildren, Tierra Johnson, Darius Johnson, Harper Boone, LaShae Boone, Marquis Davis, Marvelous Davis, Marvin Davis Jr., KeyAarron Dishman, Diamonique Allen, Jayontia Slaughter, Marcello Walker, Melaquias Clark; siblings Regina (Michael) Berry, Jackie (Dorisa) Slaughter, Kay (Glen) Birch, William (Jennifer) Towns, Ernest Towns; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends: Terry, Johnny, Elmer, Jesse, Patricia Graves and Bonnie Holman.
Funeral Information
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville. Wake is scheduled 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Funeral Ceremony is scheduled 12:00 PM-1:30 PM, Burial will be at Camp Nelson at 2:30 PM and the repass is scheduled at Clark Legacy Center, immediately following burial.
