Mary Agnes (Purcell) Arnold, 73, wife of John Kenneth Arnold, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026. She was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on January 7, 1953 to the late Zelma Bryant and Mike Purcell. Mary worked at Flagg Inc., McAlpins and Wayne Supply.
In addition to her husband, Ken, those left to cherish Mary's memory include her daughter, Michelle (J.J.) Deans; son, Kevin Arnold; brothers, Joe (Mildred) Purcell, Russell Purcell, Jerry Purcell; sister-in-law, Wanda Purcell; grandchildren, Katie Deans, Michael Deans, and Jacob Deans.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gobel Purcell, James Purcell, George Purcell; and sister-in-law, Agnes Purcell.
Mary treasured her family above all and especially her grandkids. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, maw maw, sister, aunt and friend. Her happiest times were spent with family, traveling with her husband, watching her grandkids’ activities and spending time with good friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 5-7pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Funeral service is planned for Thursday at 1pm at Clark Legacy Center, officiated by Deacon Ted Fraebel. Followed by a graveside service at 2:30 at The Lexington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Arnold, J.J. Deans, Michael Deans, Danny Purcell, Travis Purcell and Paul Purcell. Â Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Purcell and Jacob Deans.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Mary’s close loved ones living with and lost to Alzheimer’s.
