Lexington, Kentucky Mary Lou Redlin passed peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours of February 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, F. Dee and Iola Ott Root, and by her youngest son, James William "Beau" Redlin. Mary Lou was a retired Customer Service Representative of Bank One/Citizens Union. Mary Lou leaves behind her brother, Fran Root, daughters, Carol (Douglas) Burns, Mary Beth ( Jess) Hart and Iola "Bird" Genger, sons Stephen Redlin, Mark Redlin and Larry (Robin) Risner, 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. Mary Lou was always young at heart and possessed a very sharp wit. She was a very special mother who loved having the neighborhood children gather at the Redlin house. Many kids from both Meadowthorpe and Thompson Road gathered at the house to get together and be kids and Mary Lou loved it. She would turn the basement over to her children who would then invite all their friends over. Mary Lou loved to tell everyone about all of the kids from both neighborhoods who would come over to the house and have a big get together. Mary Lou would make pots of soup and chocolate chip cookies for everyone, it was the one place all the kids felt welcome and safe. All of these children who have now grown into adults all still have special memories and a very special place in their hearts for Mammy Lou. Funeral Information A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28th, 2015. Visitation is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, with a Celebration of Life at 4:00pm for Mary Lou and her son Beau. There will be a gathering of friends and family after the Celebration of Life ceremony. The Clark Legacy Funeral Home at the Brannon Crossing facility.
