Matthew Allen "Matt" Longworth

Matthew Allen “Matt” Longworth, 56, of Lexington, husband of Carla Jean Ware Longworth passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A Lexington native, he was born to Kathleen Irene Hungler and the late William Frederick Longworth on October 28, 1969.

Matt was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Class of 1987. He was a skilled union electrician with IBEW Local 369.

He enjoyed listening to music, including seeing his favorite bands live. He also enjoyed doing yard work at his home and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

In addition to his loving wife of 29 years and his mother, Matt is survived by their three children: Haley, Kyler, and Blake Longworth; his grandson, Enzo Longworth; two brothers, Billy (Jennifer) Longworth and Ronnie (Sharon) Longworth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, May 30th at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. The celebration of life service will start at 2:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life gathering which will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Funeral home location: 601 East Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
