Lexington, KY Melva Jean Wallace, 93, died February 19, 2014. She is survived by her son Steven Wallace; daughter Marie Allison; sister Pat Thompson; grandchildren Brie Wallace, Gregory Wallace, Christopher Riddell, Allen Riddell, Jennifer Robinson, Jamie Wallace, Lori Robertson, Lee Mughmaw; great grandchildren Christina Robinson, Dale Wallace, Austin Wallace, Carolanne Wallace and Dannielle Jones, nieces Diana Willoughby and Angela Combs; nephews Bobby Stamper and Danny Stamper and grandnephews Dallas Willoughby, DeWayne Combs and Brandon Combs; grandniece Autumn Hager and great grandniece McKenzie Rose Combs. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Gertrude (Gephardt) Kearns; husband Howard Vernon Wallace; son Gary Wallace; sister Margaret Stamper and brother Robert Kearns. Melva was an avid reader of detective stories, who liked gardening, shopping yard sales and vacationing at the beach. She once played a part in a film to promote a consumer directed Medicaid waiver. She also was a gifted jewelry maker. Melva will be missed by all who knew her.
