Mrs. Carla Jo Sanders Norris, age 56, wife of Joseph E. Norris of 557 Freeman Drive, Lexington, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November, 18th after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 26, 1961 in Casey County, daughter of William Delain and Betty Rose Sanders. On November 9, 2003 she was united in marriage to Joseph E. Norris. They recently celebrated their 14th anniversary at home together. Carla Jo had one daughter, DeLaina Renee Elmore (Nate Danvers) of Frankfort, Kentucky.
She gave her life to the Lord early on being raised by Christian parents and confirmed that proclamation many times during the battle with cancer. She was strong and courageous for 7 years and never gave up the fight.
Carlo Jo was an employee of the Keeneland Racing Industry for 32 years, where she was loved by many. Her wit and charm made her an exceptional and valued employee and friend.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Joe Norris of Lexington, daughter, DeLaina (Nate) Elmore of Frankfort, three sisters; Glenda Turner of Somerset, KY, Wilma Thomas (Sam) of Harrodsburg, KY, Theresa Walters (Byron) of Fisherville, KY, nieces; Lori Wade of Fort Wright, KY, Taylor Grace Walters of Fisherville, KY, and one nephew, Daniel Walters of Fisherville, KY. One great-niece, Erin Reese Jones of Fort Wright, KY, along with all her friends and coworkers at Keeneland. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Darrell Turner.
Funeral Information
A private visitation for immediate family will be held, Monday, November 20. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, November 21st at Clark Legacy Center, 601 E. Brannon Crossing Road, Nicholasville, KY from 6-8 PM.
Private burial services will be at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Dunnville, Kentucky.
