Nelson Earl Baker, 76, husband of Viola Gritton Baker, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Ohio, son of the late Herbert and Mary Turner Baker.He was a retired Proof Reader for the Lexington Herald Leader, a member of Broadway Christian Church, and he loved fishing and bowling. Surviving besides his wife are his two sons; Nelson Earl {Rebecca} Baker, James F. Baker , his sister-in-law; Joyce R. Gritton, all of Lexington, his nine grandchildren,; Jordan Baker, Joshua Baker, Nathan Baker, Emily Baker and Matthew Baker, Ricky {Johanna} Beasley, Matthew {Sabrina} Beasley, Andrew Beasley and Daniel Beasley, his two great grandchildren; Emily and Sophia Beasley, his two cousins; Pat {Norman} Colvin and Cathy Teater. He was preceded In death by a sister; Margaret Caywood.
Funeral Information
His visitation will be 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Clark Legacy Center Brannon Crossing, followed by his funeral service at 11:30 conducted by Norman Colvin and Pastor Gerald Dodge with burial in the Lexington Cemetery.
