Nicola Squeo

Nicola Squeo, 79, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on December 11, 2025.

He was born on June 7, 1946, in Bisceglie, Italy. Nicola worked for many years as a chef in New York’s Little Italy, where his love for cooking and inventing new recipes brought joy to countless family and friends. His generosity was evident in his desire to feed others, and he found happiness in sharing meals and stories.

Nicola enjoyed fishing and cherished his hometown of Bisceglie. He was a dreamer with a gift for storytelling, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.

He is preceded in death by his wives Helen Squeo and Immaculata Squeo.

He is survived by his sister, Lucia DiReda; brothers, Felice and Sabino Maenza; children, Sylvia, Vincenza, Melissa, Vincenzo, and Pasquale; grandchildren, Caleb, Rebekah, Matthew, Jakob, Blake, Nolan, and Jonathan; American nephews and nieces, Charlie and Nicoletta; and many beloved Italian nephews and nieces.

We look forward to seeing him young and healthy in Jehovah's new world.
