Palmer “Josh” Lesch, aged 71, formerly of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on June 11, 1947 to Charles and Mary Lesch in Dowagiac, Michigan. Josh had a long and expansive life. He met his wife, Rebecca Jane Thompson, at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. The two married in Mount Pleasant on June 8, 1969. Soon after graduating with a degree in Science Education, he entered the Navy. Josh served for eight years as a Human Resource Manager; he continued this in his civilian life for the next 40 years with various companies in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Kentucky. He often shared his ability to “fold and fluff” with his co-workers, the Committee of 101, and friends. He loved the Green Bay Packers and University of Kentucky sports. His storytelling and jokes made many situations a joy, and he will be missed by his community. Josh is survived by his wife, Rebecca; and his daughter, Mary “Mel” Lesch; his brother Nick (Connie) Lesch, his nieces, Amanda and Megan Lesch; his brother Jeff (June) Thompson; his sisters Elizabeth (Pete) Thompson, and Mary (Phil) Busman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary; and his son, Paul Andrew Lesch. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 pm Sat. Jan. 26, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center in Nicholasville, KY. There will be a gathering following the ceremony from 6 pm to 8 pm at the same location. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Josh’s memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Markey Cancer Center, or Bluegrass Care Navigators. If desired, wear UK or Packer gear to the service, but it is not expected. "
