Raymond Preston Johnson, 87, husband of the late Lillian Everman Johnson, died August 18, 2015. He was the son of the late Sidney William and Alma Preston Johnson. He was retired from IBM, a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and a member of the Bluegrass Amateur Radio Society (KC4ZCQ). He was also a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Stephen Ray (Cheryl) Johnson of Sand Springs, OK and one daughter, Sydney Jean (Tom) Smith of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Stephenie Anne (Terry) Sivadon of Sapulpa, OK, Stephen Ray (Julianna) Johnson Jr. of Spokane, WA, Gary Alan (Jo) Creighton of Lexington, KY and Stanley Edward (Holly) Creighton of Richmond, KY; nine great grandchildren, Ally (Wes) Lightle Tulsa, OK and Jordan Powell of Sapulpa, OK, Kristianne and Aiden Johnson of Spokane, WA, Jadzia Creighton of Lexington, KY and Hannah, Max, Aria and Lillian Creighton of Richmond, KY. He is preceded in death by one brother William Howard Johnson.
Raymond enjoyed family, ham radio, holidays and his church family. He taught Sunday school for many years at Ashland Baptist Church.
The family would like to acknowledge the entire Bluegrass Care and Rehabilitation Family! Their love and care for our dad has been extraordinary! Our thanks to each and every person there.
Funeral Information
Visitation will be at Clark Legacy Center, 601 E. Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 10-11 AM. Followed by a Service at 11 AM. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery at 12 noon.
