Rev. Lawrence (Larry) Roney Cook of Frankfort KY, husband of Carla Mae Griesser Cook, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Knoxville, TN on February 6, 1942 to the late Rev. Wesley Roney Cook and Laura Louise O’Connor. For the last 21 years of his ministry, he served as the Minister of Music and Adult Education for First Baptist Church Frankfort on St. Clair Street. He influenced many lives through his 39 years of ministry in churches in both Georgia and Kentucky. He enjoyed playing the piano, singing, arranging flowers, and spending time with his family. For the past three years, he was pleased to be part of a UK neurological study on Parkinson’s Disease, and continues to contribute to their research even in his death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lori (Dirk) Morgan, Murray, and Amy (John) Pacyga, Louisville; his son, Dwayne (Marsha) Cook, Frankfort; his sister Martha Brown (Kay), Elizabethtown; his brother, Jerry Cook (Charlotte), Nashville; and his eight grandchildren: Bryan (Rachel), Shelby, and Jonah Morgan; Jacob, Rebecca, and Jonathan Cook; and Benjamin and Rachel Pacyga. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a great-grandson, Cason Morgan, this summer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort, followed by a gathering from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
