Richard A. Lynch Nelson

Richard A Lynch Nelson, 76, of Nicholasville, and husband of Margaret Jean “Peggy” Nelson passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was born to the late Richard Arnold Lynch and Harriet Jane Thomas Lynch on September 20, 1949.   He was born in Lexington but mostly raised in Nitro, West Virginia. He was a graduate of Nitro High School, Class of 1968. He played in a Swing band as a young man, beginning during his high school years.  Rick played drums throughout his life mostly in bands in central Kentucky.   Rick was a Vietnam War veteran in the U.S. Navy.  After his honorable discharge from the service he moved back to central Kentucky.  He also was a member of American Legion Post 8, Lexington.      In addition to his loving wife of 14 years, he is survived by his son Logan Tanner (Hannah) Lynch and two grandchildren.    Rick wished to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
