Richard Hillard Krusinski

Richard Hilliard Krusinski, age 89, passed away on February 21, 2019 at Mayfair Manor in Lexington, KY. He was born May 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late Jack Krusinski and Helen Rezeno Krusinski Butzen. They moved to Madisonville, KY in 1976, retired at Lake Barkley, Cadiz, KY in the mid 90’s and eventually moved to Nicholasville, KY in 2008 to live closer to a daughter and most recently moved to Lexington to Hartland Hills, June 2017. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Krusinski and his sister in law Patricia Lynch Krusinski. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan following WWII. He was a baker in Chicago from 1955-1975 and owned 3 different bakeries including Krusinski's Bakery, Coleman’s Bakery (eventually changed to Richard's Pastry Shoppe) and Richard’s Pastry Shoppe. Richard was an avid fisherman, loved being on the water and he enjoyed bowling. Richard leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Lolita Kotarek Krusinski; daughter Jane (Dale) Dvorak of Waco, TX, daughter Gail (Hal) Harned of Lexington, KY and son David (Eda Kacki) Krusinski of Chicago, IL; grandchildren David, Jr., Douglas, Dawn, Sally, Kari, Benjamin, Lauren and Jordan and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 12:00pm followed by mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Nicholasville, KY on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM with burial immediately following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY at 2:30 PM. The family has requested in lieu of flowers please make contributions in memory of Richard Hillard Krusinski to the Wounded Warriors Project or the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
