Robert Gene "Squeak" Bailey, Jr.

Robert Gene "Squeak" Bailey, Jr., 57, of Lexington, and husband of Chantel Marie Sanders Bailey passed away at home while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church.

Squeak was part-owner of Bailey & Sons Tree Service. He also held a Class A CDL and drove for a few trucking companies, including running a mail truck for Thurman for many years.

Together, he and Chantel loved cruising. They had been planning to take an Alaskan cruise soon. He also was a car enthusiast who owned a 1971 Chevy Chevelle, one of his prized possessions. He attended many Pigeon Forge Rod Runs, admiring all the cars.

Most of all, Squeak loved his family.

In addition to his loving wife of 24 years, he is survived by his sons, Brandon Bailey, Derrick (Alondra) Soper, Dustin (Tiffany) Soper, and Darren (Mackenzie) Soper; his parents, Robert Gene Bailey, Sr. And Laura M. Duff Bailey; two sisters, Mahala Duff and Catherine (Dwayne) Napier; five grandchildren, Beau Soper, Addie Soper, Roman Soper, Declan Soper, and Grant Soper; best friend Kelly Shepard; extended family Tyler Bonds (nephew), Aiden Bonds (great nephew), along with many other cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held next Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. The visitation will occur from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 7:00 p.m. Brother Bill Bales from Bethel Christian Church will officiate the funeral.
