Lexington - Ruth Gay White Hanks, 94, widow of Glenwood Hanks, died Sunday April 13th, 2014 at Lexington Country Place. She was born in Clark Co. Kentucky, daughter of the late A.P. and Edith DeVary White. She was a member of Lafayette Christian Church and the Highland Christian Church in Frankfort. Former president of the Lexington Homemakers Club and very active in the CWF and spent her winters in Mont Verde, Florida since 1979. Surviving are her two sons, Marcus P. (Fawn) Hanks, of Lexington, Lawrence B. Hanks, Seattle Washington, her sister, Barbara Shelton, Lexington, her brother, Glenn White, Winchester, three grandchildren, Hunter G. Hanks, Holly A. Hanks and Fielden L. Hanks and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:30 pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery conducted by Rev. Robert White. Visitation will be 11 - 1:30 pm Thursday, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors. www.clarklegacycenter.com
