Saundra J. Branham

Saundra J. Branham of Lexington, KY, peacefully passed away at St Joseph Hospital Monday, June 15, 2026. She was born in Ashland, KY on November 19, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Gene and Juanita “Bobbie” Branham. She graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Nursing. She had a stellar career as a nurse at Beaches Hospital in Atlantic Beach, FL and the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. She retired in 2017 after 43 years of devoting herself to the care and comfort of others.

She loved being surrounded by friends and family. She was a wonderful dog mom to Tippi and Sundae, her two adorable Chihuahuas. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Her favorite travel destinations included a beach where she could stick her toes in the sand and enjoy the beautiful ocean sunsets. She was a member of the JOYS Bunco group and her work lunch lady’s group. Her beautiful smile, sense of humor and inviting manner will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Saundra was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Juanita “Bobbie” Branham and her sister Suzy Moore. She is survived by her brother Roger Branham (Pat), nephew Brian Branham, nieces Jessica Branham, Ashley Kirk, Kristy Kirk and their families.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5pm-8pm Friday, October 16, 2026 with a special time of sharing memories at 6pm at Clark Legacy Center - Brannon Crossing. Expressions of sympathy made take the form of donations to Paws 4 the Cause, 201 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40508.
