Skyler Julian Greene

Sep 19, 2004 — Jul 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Skyler Julian Greene. age 21 of Lexington, Kentucky who left us too soon on July 10th, 2026. Sky is forever cherished by his mother, Eirika Bennett; his grandparents, Perry (Jiji) and Honoka (Mimi) Bennett; and a large, close-knit family of great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones who shared an extraordinary bond with him.

Skyler graduated Henry Clay High School in 2023. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve embodying the core values of duty and selfless service. He was assigned to Bravo Detachment, 372nd Military Intelligence Battalion in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was previously assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 8-229th Assault Helicopter Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Sky brought light and laughter to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was his Mimi’s soul mate, his cousins’ compassionate and cool big cousin, and his friends’ most loyal, protective friend. He was known for his love of nature and the outdoors, and he’d never say no to a night of pick-up basketball with his friends. Sky had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh and his taste in sneakers and short shorts was also a reflection of his vibrant personality. His selfless, generous spirit will be remembered forever.

This tragedy has left a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved Sky. In his honor, we are committed to raising awareness for young adults facing similar struggles. Our greatest wish is that Sky’s legacy may help another young person feel less alone. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Jed Foundation, a non profit that protects mental health of our nation’s teens and young adults.

A visitation for family and friends with be held on Friday, July 17th, 2026 at 2:30PM to 4:30PM.

Rather than traditional funeral attire, we invite you to remember Sky by wearing the clothes you would have worn to make memories with him —regardless of formality. He would have wanted you to look like you while we gather to celebrate his life.
