Stephen White Johnson

Aug 20, 1939 — Jun 22, 2026

Stephen White Johnson, 86, late husband of Barbara Johnson, entered Heaven Monday, June 22, 2026 at Cedarhurst of Nicholasville. Born August 20, 1939, Stephen was the son of Edgar and Helen Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky. Stephen enlisted in the United States Army and served his country faithfully. After graduating with a degree in business administration from Berea College as well as the University of Kentucky, the School of Banking of the South- Louisiana State University as well as the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, Stephen went on to succeed in his career of banking. He became the Vice President of the First Security National Bank & Trust Company in Lexington. The Lord lovingly drew Stephen to Himself and placed a call on his life to become a Christian counselor. Once Stephen accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he pursued this call and went on to open his practice- Stephen Johnson & Associates in Nicholasville, KY. For over 40 years, Stephen worked with countless clients in his practice as well as reaching many people with God’s truth through his radio broadcast, Counselors Corner.

Stephen and Barbara lived a very adventurous and active lifestyle- frequently hiking in the Smoky Mountains and traveling the world. They spent countless hours with friends and were notorious for being the life of the party and making those they were with laugh! They also served the Lord diligently in their church, Church of the Savior.

Stephen’s sense of humor and quick wit remained unmatched and intact until the very end of his life. He clung to the scripture verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “…pray without ceasing”, especially in the season of deep grief after Barbara passed away. Stephen rarely passed up an opportunity to pray with his loved ones and strangers alike. The full impact of Stephen’s life and ministry during his time on earth can only be known by the Father in Heaven.

Stephen is proceeded in death by his 2 children who were born into Heaven, Jonathan David and Marissa May, as well as his wife of 37 years, Barbara.
